Outfitting

I was born In Saratoga, New York, where we lived for 3 1/2 years before moving to Southern New Jersey. This is where I learned to hunt Whitetails, mastering the skill of killing mature suburban bucks in densely populated areas. I lived there until age 21 before moving to West Central Illinois (Brown Co), to pursue Giant Midwestern Bucks.

I was hired as a guide for an outfitter specializing in Trophy Bowhunting. After one season of successfully guiding multiple clients to a trophy of a lifetime, I knew this was my calling. After 3 years of guiding, I started my own Outfitting business with the help of my partner, Laramie Hughes. Over the next 10 years, I was the owner/operator of Eagle Outfitters in Mount Sterling, IL. This business allowed me access to all types of properties, each with its own unique features and development opportunities in regard to Trophy deer hunting and is also where Bobby Kendall and I first met. 

Selling real estate

Developing strategy, creating food plots, adjusting access points, and constantly monitoring deer movement patterns was my everyday job and passion. In 2008, I was contacted by Scott Whittington, a local Real Estate Broker. He told me of his plan to start a land brokerage company specializing in premier hunting properties and asked me to be a part of it. I loved the idea and obtained my Brokers license. This business took off quickly and led to me selling my Outfitting Business and concentrating full time on selling property and building the LandGuys, LLC of Illinois Brand.

Developing farms

Bobby Kendall had bought and sold several properties through LandGuys. After a lot of brainstorming, he came up with the idea to start a company that specialized in assessing, designing and implementing the development of these properties into well-thought-out, trophy deer hunting farms.

I am still a full-time broker with LandGuys, LLC of Illinois, I also help Bobby, as part of The Whitetail Group, LLC, transforming ordinary properties into some of the most desirable trophy hunting farms in the country. Finding, Growing, and Attracting Giant Bucks through property development is what we do!
